The Asheville Gentlemen is a group of professional musicians known for their good dancing music (especially standards from the 1930's - 1950's and Dixieland), versatility and showmanship. Under the leadership of saxophonist Lloyd Weinberg, well known as the director of the UNCA Community Jazz Band, this dynamic group of top-notch musicians has performed for conventions, concerts, festivals, private parties and wedding receptions since 1987.

The Asheville Gentlemen consists of piano, bass, drums, and saxophone. Vocalist, trumpet, and/or trombone can be added.

The Asheville Gentlemen can accommodate your event whether it is large or small, a show, dinner-dance or background music. Any arrangement from a solo pianist to a large band can be provided according to your needs.

The Asheville Gentlemen also perform A Musical History of Jazz , a unique program for conventions, special events, meetings and school programs of all kinds. The program is a fun and educational tour through the evolution of Jazz, beginning with Dixieland and making its way to Fusion and Free Jazz. The program is approximately 45 minutes long, and can be custom tailored to any audience, from elementary school students to CEO's. The length and format are flexible enough to accomodate any venue.

In addition, Lloyd Weinberg (saxophone) and Paul Babelay (vibraphone) work together as PB & Lloyd. This duo offers a unique sound for the sophisticated adult event as well as a popular children's program, "Learning the Lessons of Life Through Music."
